January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. Cervical cancer is a disease in which cells in the cervix grow out of control. Each year in the United States, about 11,500 new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed and about 4,000 women die of this cancer. There are steps that you can take to prevent and better treat cervical cancer.
